Migraine World Summit 2017
This week is the second annual Migraine World Summit, a free online event featuring streamable interviews from 36 of the world's top migraine and neurology experts. I didn't attend last year and therefore was unsure what to expect at this year's event. Given the amount of time I spend researching and writing on migraine and the brain in general, I was unsure I'd learn much in the first day.
I was wrong. In addition to learning a few things I hadn't learned before (Migraine can present as carpal tunnel like nerve pain? Tell me more!), I was pleased to see how likable the experts are. Dr. Purdy, in particular, struck me as someone I'd love to have a long talk with--or at least see as a patient. Knowing researchers, doctors, and educators like him exist gives me hope for the future of migraine.
If you haven't yet signed up for the event, I believe there's still time. The interviews and talks are only streamable for the first 24 hours, so you can't access yesterday's talks any longer unless you pay for permanent access. (I believe that is an option, though I can't be sure.) However, today's talks were just released and will be online until early tomorrow morning.
For details and to register, visit https://www.migraineworldsummit.com. Make sure to check out the day's schedule. Talks run through Saturday, April 29.
I will be posting more about what I've learned at this event. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the lectures. I hope you do too!
